Happy World Diabetes Day
One of our visiting students, Henry, explains the importance of World Diabetes Day for him.
November 14th聽is World Diabetes Day.
Stanford University conducted a study which concluded people with Type 1 diabetes tend to make an average of 180 extra decisions every day.
As a student with type 1 diabetes, it is constantly on my mind, in class, on the train, while asleep. As time moves on though things get easier. I get more used to it, technology advances (in the world of Insulin Pumps, Constant Glucose Monitors, etc.), I am very fortunate to have accommodations in class that help to make my classroom experience a bit better, and many very smart people are working on a cure all over the world.
I choose to not be sad on a day like World Diabetes Day but rather celebrate how far myself and the rest of the global diabetic community has come.
