Fall Semester

• EAP 7200 Advanced English for Business Studies

  ​​This course is designed to enhance students’ language abilities and improve their communication skills in academic contexts. The course will help students whose first language is other than English with the academic literacy norms, terminology and research techniques expected at postgraduate level. Based on principles from established ESP (English for specific Purposes) programmes, the input will implement materials relevant to the programme of study.​

• MGT 7200 Business Communications Skills

  Effective verbal and non-verbal communication will lead to effective management as well dealing with conflict situations. Communication in business plays a crucial role in getting the work done and solving the problems at different levels internally. Similarly, effective communication external entities is tremendous as the good communication is fundamental to the overall success of a business organisation. This course explores the role of business communication in running modern business and develops professional business communication skills

• MGT 7201 Quantitative Analysis for Decision Makers

  The course introduces the quantitative analytical techniques that can be used by business managers to make decision to help them improve efficiency. Managers now have instant direct access to vast quantities of business information and relatively cheap user friendly computer software such as Excel. It is increasing important for managers to develop awareness and understanding of the more commonly used techniques. The course develops skills of direct practical benefit to managers and decision makers in all organisations.

• MKT 7200 Social Media Marketing

  This course addresses the challenge, for marketing professionals, of marketing in a digital age with a focus on the fast-moving landscape of social media. The course is designed to provide an understanding of how social media is used to achieve business and marketing objectives. It covers topics including social media integration, campaign management, customer engagement and measuring success. It also equips students with an in-depth knowledge of social media practices including search engine optimisation (SEO), email marketing, content marketing and social media analytics. Teaching methods will feature the latest industry insights, best practice, examples and case studies of successful social media campaigns.

• MGT 7202 Managing across Cultures

  This module explores management related issues in within of context global businesses. It considers the challenges and opportunities for organisations with diverse locations, customers and employees. This module develops knowledge of research and practice within the field of cross-cultural and international management within globalised industries.The module focuses on management practices and communication skills necessary in diverse organisations. It encourages a reflexive approach towards the development of the skills and experience required to be successful in cross-cultural encounters at local, organisational and global levels.

Spring Semester

• INB 7200 International Business

  It provides a managerial perspective into handling the strategy, structure and operations of multinational corporations (MNCs) within the international business environment. MNCs respond to their challenges and opportunities in the global market as a combination of internal and external competitive advantages. The international business environment is studied as indicative of such constraints within which international enterprises need to operate and it includes a variety of aspects such as political, regulatory, technological and ecological. The multinational corporation response to its international environment from a managerial and functional perspective are studied. Equally, the issues of planning and executing business strategies on a global scale are developed

• HRM 7200 Leadership Development

  This course is designed to develop the student’s ability to take leadership responsibility in a business environment. Students will learn to critically reflect and apply leadership theories. They will understand how leadership development has become a global business and which are the key stakeholders. Methods including action learning as well as peer feedback will raise self-awareness and foster students’ personal and professional development.

• FNN 7102 Finance Management

  This course is designed to develop the students' ability to manage a company’s finances. Students will analyse and evaluate the financial performance of organisations. This is based on financial statements and market performance indicators. For this, students will be exposed to methodological approaches concerning the preparation and interpretation of financial statements. This is further supported by an in depth investigation of financial theories and their application to actual scenarios requiring financial decision-making.

• MGT 7203 Sustainable Business Strategies

  ESG values have come to the forefront recent business discourse and financial investment. Building on theories and models of strategic management this course focuses on strategic analysis, planning and implementation of environmentally and socially sustainable business strategies. Early lectures outline the basic strategic analysis models and case study analyses relate to both the firm's internal operations and the environment in which it operates. The course culminates in embedding the principles of ESG and the triple bottom line into future strategic planning.

Summer Semester

• MGT 7160 Business Research

  This course discusses the main concepts and techniques involved in the field of business. The course develops four main themes: research in context which puts the student as the researcher and as the user of research; research methodology which deals with the nature and limitations of different philosophies of research design e.g. deductive versus inductive approaches: qualitative versus quantitative approaches and the role of literature: research method which deals with advantages and issues associated with the use of various data collection methods including observation, use of groups, interviewing techniques and questionnaire design. At the end of the class a research proposal for the upcoming dissertation needs to be prepared which deals with issues of planning, literature review, topic selection, access to data, schedules, action plans, writing styles and referencing systems.

• MKT 7201 Marketing International Products and Services

  The course provides understanding of theoretical and practical frameworks needed to market international products and services. It provides a deep understanding and application of strategies and techniques used to bring a product or service to market in a new international environment. Marketing strategies with global or international perspective, including the relevance and role of company resources and competitive strengths in constructing both single business and multi business strategies.

• MGT 7204 International Operations Management

  This course provides a theoretical and practical understanding of operations management in international organisations.Students will develop the ability to apply some of its major techniques to practical business problems. It includes operations strategy, materials management, production planning and simulation, network planning, variety reduction, quality assurance, quality circles, purchasing, and problems and opportunities of introducing new technology.

Fall Semester

• MGT 7902 Internship

  The MBA internship is a full-time work placement within an organization related to the world of business. The internship aims to provide students with a graduate level experiential learning opportunity in which they can develop intellectual, professional and personal skills that will enable them to function well in a culturally diverse working environment in all key job sectors. All internships are supervised by faculty, and all last a minimum of 9 weeks in length and are carried out full time Monday to Thursday/ Friday. Each student will also complete a series of assessments throughout the internship. These assessments have been designed to help the student reflect on the skills they are learning and the benefits gained from the internship experience, and also to help them determine if their current career goals are the correct fit for them.

• MGT 7510 Dissertation

  This course will provide students with the opportunity of constructing an applied project in the area of business and management. Students will initiate, plan and execute an individually constructed project with a strong emphasis on applied business scenarios/challenges. The course will lead to the preparation of a 10,000 word project report.

OR

• MGT 7560 Extended Dissertation

  This course will provide students with the opportunity of constructing an applied research project in the area of business and management. Students will initiate, plan and execute an individually constructed project. The topic is usually related to the programme content and is investigated with the use of appropriate research methods. Emphasis is placed on appropriate literature search, and collection and analysis of data. The course will lead to the preparation of a 15.000 word project report.
